The Elf on the Shelf craze has exploded in the past 2 years through the month of December, with so many parents working hard to come up with creative new ideas to place their elf each night, ready for the kids to come looking in the morning.
The concept behind Elf on the Shelf is to enhance the Christmas magic for kids, encouraging them to keep believing. It also helps with keeping them more nice than naughty through December. After all, the elf does pop back to the North Pole each night to report to Santa all the going ons.
With only a 2 year old, we haven’t started this tradition and to be honest, I was a bit of an anti-elfer. However it’s catching and I think we will get ourselves a little elf helper next December to make the lead up to Christmas more fun.
My friend Jess however is a bit of a Elf on the Shelf pro. Her 2 girls are lucky enough to have the pleasure of a very mischievous elf visiting their home each December. And Jess has been kind enough to let me share some of her creative Elf on the Shelf ideas from this year.
First up, welcome back Sparkles the Elf
This one is very impressive. That is a lot of effort. Well done Jess.

Sometimes you need to give the little people a friendly Elf reminder to be nice instead of naughty.

Thanks Jess for letting me share your creative elf ideas.
Although it also reminds me how close to Christmas we actually are. Less than 10 sleeps left til Christmas now and still so much to do. I spent some time wrapping Christmas presents today, with a few of my Santa Tag freebie printed off for my daughters gifts. Although I still have a couple of handmade gifts left to make. Eeeeeeekkkk. Fingers crossed for a productive week ahead.
Are you an Elf on the Shelf household? Why/Why not? What is your favourite Elf scenario so far this year?
